Yap Merkezi Prefabrication, founded in 1978, was the first Turkish company in its industry to receive the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance certificate. Yap Merkezi established the Freysaşin partnership with Freysinet International in 1987. Since then, Freysas has executed construction projects utilising cutting-edge techniques such as cable-stay systems, post-tensioning, heavy lifting, and ground anchoring. Yapkonut[5] joined the group in 1994 and has since completed such projects as amkonaklar, Sokullu Estates, NP12 Estates, Sisli Plaza, and Arkeon Housing Complex. Irmak Schools, Education Institution was established in 1995, the same year that qualified Education Institutions Inc. was established. The Group established SUBOR Pipe Industry Inc. in 1996 to manufacture advanced composite construction materials.
Knowledge of the Rail systems
Yapray joined the group in 1995 to benefit from the group's expertise in the Rail systems sector and to meet the growing demand for urban and intercity rail transport. Yapray provides railway system design, development, and operation services.
Yap Merkezi currently constructs the majority of Istanbul's operating rail systems. Yap Merkezi's turnkey projects include the Dubai Metro, Ankara-Konya High-Speed Railway, Casablanca Tramway, Algeria Bir Touta-Zeralda Railway, Medinah High-Speed Train Station, Izmir Metro, Eskisehir Tramway, Kayseri Tramway, Taksim-Kabatas Funicular System, and Antalya Tramway.
Estram (Eskisehir LRTS) received the 2004 UITP (International Association of Public Transport) "Light Rail Project of the Year" award, UITP "2010 Best Urban Integration Project of the Year" award, and British Light Transit Association's "Worldwide Project of the Year" award (Kayseri Light Rail System). Yap Merkezi constructs both tramway systems as a turnkey project.
