Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of Maintenance and development of Trunk and Regional Roads Networks in Tanzania Mainland. Apart from this, it is also responsible for conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridges.
As a measure to strengthen capacity of discharging TANROADS functions effectively, the Regional Manager’s Office TANROADS Mwanza on behalf of Chief Executive, seeks to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanian Citizens to fill the vacancies at its Usagara Weighing Station and Regional Office.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill the various vacancies in the region on Contract terms(Renewable subject to satisfactory performance)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
Appointments will be on Contract Terms of Three (3) years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance, efficiency and effectiveness.
POSITION TITLE: ICT TECHNICIAN II -1 POST
POSITION RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Incharge of Accounts and Administration
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install PCs, biometric attendance systems (BAS) and peripherals:
Assist in the repair and maintenance of computers and audio-visual equipment;
Ensure that computers in offices are in good working condition
Provide assistance to computer end users:
carry out specified routine technical tasks;
To provide technical support for PCs, BAS and related peripheral equipment;
To assist in testing new or modified equipment and systems;
To document and communicate problems, solutions and the implementation process to Supervisor;
Store copies of software and documentations of computer systems;
Assist ICT Officers at the TANROADS Headquarters in finding source documents and solutions for identified problems;
Perform archiving of official documents;
Assist Programmers at the TANROADS Headquarters in testing new or revised application programs;
Advise programmers at the TANROADS Headquarters in problems related to data entry;
Maintain data processing systems, tape library and disk storage;
Monitor console for errors, observe elements of operation for evidence of incorrect operation;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be Tanzanian Citizen
Holder of a Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Ordinary Diploma either in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.
Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
